Curriculum vitae

Matthias Altmeyer studied Biology with a focus on Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Konstanz, Germany. In 2007 he moved to Zurich, Switzerland, and joined the Molecular Life Sciences PhD Program of the Life Science Zurich Graduate School, working on genome biology, post-translational protein modifications and cellular stress signalling. In 2010 he joined the groups of Prof. Dr. Jiri Lukas and Prof. Dr. Jiri Bartek at the Genome Integrity Unit of the Danish Cancer Society in Copenhagen, Denmark, to work on cellular mechanisms of genome integrity maintenance. In 2012 he followed Prof. Dr. Jiri Lukas to the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Research at the University of Copenhagen. His postdoctoral work was supported by EMBO long-term and Danish Research Council fellowships and a Sapere Aude research grant. In 2014 he was awarded an SNSF Assistant Professorship and in 2016 an ERC Starting Grant to establish his independent research group at the Department of Molecular Mechanisms of Disease. In 2020 he was appointed Associate Professor ad personam for Quantitative Cell Biology by the University of Zurich.
